Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is a widely-used flavoring found in a variety of consumer products. Peppermint's aromatic and health-giving qualities come from the mint;s volatie oil, which contains menthol. Both herbs have a long and varied history and together make a refreshing tea. It may be served either hot or cold, and lemon may be added, along with sweetners, to taste.
