Product Description
5-HTP is extracted from an African plant (Griffonia simplicifolia).
5-HTP is the intermediate metabolite between the amino acid L-tryptophan and serotonin.
5-HTP is a direct precursor of the important inhibitory neurotransmitter serotonin.
5-HTP and tryptophan are not the same. 5-HTP is related to tryptophan, but is derived from a different source.
Health Benefits
5-HTP may increase serotonin which soothes and calms and brings about feelings of contentment.
5-HTP may be effective for the support of a healthy mood.
Suggested Use
As a dietary supplement, start with a low dose of one tablet (50 mg) taken daily with a meal.
Increase the dose slowly (every 3-5 days) up to a maximum of four tablets (200 mg).
Total daily intake should be divided into two or more doses, with no more than two tablets per dose.
