Phosphatidyl Serine may stimulate the synthesis and release of dopamine, related to heightened states of attention. The brain's response to stress also appears to be related to phosphatidyl serine. When healthy young men were subjected to exercise-induced stress, those taking phosphatidyl serine had a lowered stress response. This was measured by blood levels of ACTH, the pituitary hormone that triggers the adrenals to secrete the stress hormone cortisol.
Ginkgo Biloba may have a wide range of beneficial effects, including inhibition of platelet activating factor (PAF), increased cerebral circulation and free radical protection.
