Step Three: Feed Yourself Right and Supplement Carefully

Choose bland, easy to digest foods especially during the first week following surgery. Medications will make your body acidic and you will need to choose more alkaline foods and avoid animal products except for yougurt, cheese and eggs. Digestion will be showed because so much energy is going into healing. These are the digestive aids you should choose.

  • Plant Enzymes - 2 capsule before each meal or snack.
  • Nutra Flora FOS powder - 1 teaspoon twice daily
  • 4 X 6 Acidophilus - 1 capsule twice daily with FOS
  • Psyllium - 1 tablespoon before going to bed
  • Magnesium Ascorbate Powder - 1/2 teaspoon mixed with psyllium at bedtime (this is very important to prevent constipation, an typical by-product of surgery and medication)

For healing you will need

  • Multiple Vitamin Eco-Green - 1 tablet per day
  • Full Spectrum Minerals - 3 capsules twice per day
  • Co-Enzyme B-Complex - one tablet in the morning with breakfast
  • Pycnogenol with Bioflavonoids - 2 caps, 3 times a day to prevent bleeding and bruising
  • Tru-E Bio Complex - 4 capsules totalling 800 IU per day (begin after surgery because it may thin your blood)
  • Whey Protein shakes - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry with one cup of fruit juice, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup fresh or frozen fruit. You can add the powder supplements such as FOS to your shake.

Since we are talking about joint surgery, you will need specific supplements to reduce inflammation and provide molecules for rebuilding:

  • Joint Support Powder - 1 heaping tablespoon twice a day (to rebuild cartilage)
  • Omega -3 Fish Oil - 3 teaspoons per day (anti-inflammatory). This Oil is very good tasting.
  • GliSODin - 1 Capsules 3 times a day to detoxify and reduce free radical damage
  • Curcumin standardized extract (95% curcuminoids) - 1capsule 3 times a day (anti-inflammatory)

Joint surgery will leave you very tired and physically drained as energy is directed towards healing. You can boost your energy supplies with:

  • D-Ribose powder - one teaspoon twice a day to provide energy for cellular repair.
  • Co-Q 10 - one capsule twice a day
  • L-Carnitine - one tablet twice a day
